At Poltalloch, we are lucky to have some wonderful boating opportunities and other water activities right on our doorstep. All our guests can enjoy using our condor paddle canoes and the rowboat (full-size life jackets provided) and are welcome to bring their own windsurfer, sailing or motorboat. Facilities include sheltered moorings, a boat launching ramp and jetty.

The freshwater of Lake Alexandrina is open, shallow near the banks, and there are many tall reed beds where you can rest in shelter. Most afternoons in warm weather, a pleasant sea breeze comes across the lake from the west.

There are many places to explore from Poltalloch: our local shoreline, the picturesque Narrows (Lake Albert Channel), or further afield to the Coorong, across the lake to Milang or Goolwa, or upstream to the mighty Murray River. If you have a motorboat, take a day trip upriver for lunch at Wellington, or pack a picnic lunch and explore the Narrows, visiting Point Malcolm lighthouse on the way. Bring your own waterskiing or windsurfing equipment for a fun day on the water.
